How do we work?
We have organized our activities according to a tested project model that allows us to meet the milestones, deadlines and budgets agreed upon with the customer. We divide projects into phases in the following way:
1. First brief meeting
In the first brief meeting we discuss the customer's current situation, business needs and initial system requirements. The purpose of the meeting is to determine if a collaboration is possible, in general, without obligation on either side. During the meeting, we usually demonstrate Navia CMS to the interested party. After the first brief meeting, we provide a rough cost estimate of the system solution.
2. Detailed definition
The definition phase is carried out together with the customer in one or several workshop meetings (each about 2-3 hours), attend by the customer's and Naviatech's experts from different project or business areas. . This definition meeting can be offered at a fixed cost.
During the definition phase, we deal with the following questions:
- How does the solution support the customer's strategic objectives?
- What business objectives are to be set for the project and the solution?
- How can search engines find the customer's web site and how can the use of search engines be optimized?
- Who are the target groups and what kind of image does the customer want to create on the web site?
- What type of content and functionality does the web site offer?
- How are the usage of the site and the targeted sales objectives monitored?
- What is the target for the return on investment (ROI)?
The customer has full rights to the specification documentation created in this Definition Project phase. For the customer, the definition phase deliverables are a system specification, a project plan, a fixed-price offer and a supply agreement proposal.
3. Technical and graphic design
The technical design of the web site always takes into account the possibility of its future expansion and the interfaces to other systems and database structures. The appearance of the customer's current site can be left as-is or it can be upgraded. Or, the customer's public web site outlook can be completely remodeled. In this latter case, we especially consider the usability of the web site with the aid of a design of its structure and the user interface. The deliverables from the technical and the graphic design phase are a technical specification and a proposal for the site's appearance.
4. Implementation
After the customer has accepted its exterior appearance and technical specification, we start the site composition and programming phase true and proper. Naviatech develops the software that performs the final web site functions. If necessary, we can also produce technical documentation for the customer.
5. Testing and training
Naviatech and the customer jointly test the system's operation before its launch. The administrators, i.e., the customer's principal users, and those assigned to update the content, are trained (typically 2-3 hours) to use the system before going live. The users are also provided with a User Manual.
6. Commissioning
The functioning web site is installed on the customer's, Naviatech's or a third party's server. The server's basic requirements are a database and PHP support. Before launch and going live, there is a final check that the content is right and everything is working as it should. The deliverable of the commissioning phase is a new web site or web campaign.
7. Maintenance, monitoring and additional development
After publication, the web site is actively maintained and controlled according to the support agreement. Systems that monitor web site usage can be free-of-charge (such as Webalizer) or license-based (such as IrisMetrics Premium or Snoobi). In the latter case, there is also feedback that is valuable for the further development of the site.
We save the ideas that come up during development phase for possible use in the definition of a future project or additional features. Subsequently, its also worth following up to see how the sales objectives have been reached and how much time is required to amortize the investment.
